Community Meeting:Countywide Park Needs

Countywide Parks Needs – Community Meeting, Thursday, Jan. 21. 6pm

Please attend!  This Thursday there will be a Community Meeting to assess Countywide Park Needs on January 21st, 6 – 8:30 pm in Santa Monica. L.A. County is now conducting an unprecedented study of park needs and YOUR voice is especially important.

This is a great opportunity for us to tell the county to support a grand park at the site of Santa Monica Airport!  Since Santa Monica has among the lowest park space per capita in the county, the expansion and conversion of SMO into parkland has long been a priority for our community to solve this need. Our community’s desire for a great park was clearly expressed in our recent election with the overwhelming passage of Measure LC which guarantees the creation of a park when the airport closes.

Airport2Park suggests that you attend this meeting on Thursday to let the county know your wishes and be sure to wear your Airport2Park tee shirts!  Don’t have one? Contact us a airport2park@gmail.com and we will get you one!

The Santa Monica Recreation & Parks Commission will host this meeting on behalf of LA County at the Santa Monica Civic Center Parking Structure, 2nd Floor Terrace Meeting Room on January 21st, 6 – 8:30. A light dinner will be served.

Please RSVP by January 19th to http://www.santamonicaparks.org/la-county-park-needs
